Travelling to Inuvik, Northwest Territories, Canada,
is truly the trip of a lifetime

Inuvik, meaning "Place of Man" in Inuvialuktun, is the northernmost community in North America accessible by public road. (68°18'N, 133°29'W)

Once here, you can take advantage of a wonderful range of activities and cultural events, and a surprising choice of hotels, bed and breakfasts, and restaurants offering local cuisine and hospitality. The Inuvik Visitor's Centre, Inuvik Centennial Library, and the Aurora Research Institute schedule diverse programming catering to our visitors throughout the summer months. Tour operators offer packages to suit every taste and budget, from flight-seeing on the Arctic Coast, to active river adventures with experienced local guides. Or simply hike out "on the land," as the Gwich'in and Inuvialuit have for centuries, marvelling under the midnight sun at the beauty of our north country. Oh, and the weather? Usually the temperature hovers around 20 degrees Celsius (68° F) during the Festival. (Of course there's always a chance it'll snow too!)
