In 2013, the only pan-northern arts festival in Canada reached the milestone of its 25th year. For a quarter of a century, artists have gathered in Inuvik for the Great Northern Arts Festival: connections and relationships formed and old friends reunited, the community bustling with an influx of artists from across the North and tourists from around the world. The 2013 Great Northern Arts Festival opening ceremonies welcomed 60 visual artists who had travelled thousands of miles, as well as countless visitors, staff and volunteers. A huge thanks goes out to all the participants in and Sponsors of GNAF 2013, as well as our volunteer Board of Directors for helping to create this supremely rich celebration of culture, creativity and diversity!
We are working steadily to update the website, while also completing the reporting for Great Northern Arts Festival 2013 and planning for another amazing 10 days in 2014.
