Jul17 Inuit Drum & Stick Making with Michel Labine 7/17/2011 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Midnight Sun Recreation Complex Arena (map)

During this four hour workshop participants will use fabric and wooden frame to complete a 26 inch drum and mallet in the Inuit style. The individual will complete the frames by attaching an antler handle and then cover the drum with fabric. They will also complete an Inuit or Inuvialuit style beater.

ONLINE REGISTRATION IS AVAILABLE UNTIL THURSDAY JULY 12TH, 2012. We will resume registration onsite on Friday July 13th at 5pm, onsite at the Midnight Sun Complex. If a workshop is full online, don't fret! We have reserved spaces for walk up registration. Make sure to visit us early to get a spot in your desired workshop!

We feature over 65 workshops for the public over the course of the Festival. These are offered by our attending artists and run 2-8 hours in length. They cover a variety of subjects, styles and artforms and range from formal visual arts to literary and traditional performing arts.

Workshops are extremely popular and are a strong drawing point for both local and travelling visitors to the Festival. Workshops are available for online registration; but book early, as many fill up quickly. Limited spots held for on-site walkup bookings.
