2012 Public Artist Workshops

For those interested in learning how to weave trim for your mukluks and parkas, this is the workshop for you. Elizabeth will introduce participants to a portable loom. Participants will discuss the tricks to creating designs, and instructions on how to warp, and use the loom to make all sorts of straps, belts, and trim you desire, even dog leashes. With this workshop, you will also receive a hand crafted weaving set.

ONLINE REGISTRATION IS AVAILABLE UNTIL THURSDAY JULY 12TH, 2012.  We will resume registration onsite on Friday July 13th at 5pm, onsite at the Midnight Sun Complex.  If a workshop is full online, don't fret!  We have reserved spaces for walk up registration.  Make sure to visit us early to get a spot in your desired workshop!

We feature over 65 workshops for the public over the course of the Festival.  These are offered by our attending artists and run 2-8 hours in length.  They cover a variety of subjects, styles and artforms and range from formal visual arts to literary and traditional performing arts.

Workshops are extremely popular and are a strong drawing point for both local and travelling visitors to the Festival.  Workshops are available for online registration; but book early, as many fill up quickly. Limited spots held for on-site walkup bookings.
